The Project Services Division (PSD) of the Engineering Services Department (ESD) is responsible for managing capital construction projects for the County. The photo above is Simi Valley’s recently completed Fire Station #43.
Capital Construction is just one part of PSD’s construction project management. The PSD also manages bidding for projects that come from the Transportation Department, the Watershed Protection District, the Water and Sanitation Department, and the Ventura County Fire Department. For information on construction contracting with the Public Works Agency go to PWA Contracting Information.
All of the projects for the above agencies that are out for bid at any time can be found on the County’s eBidBoard website. If you want to download plan holder lists, plans and specifications, or find out other information on projects out for bid please use the Instructions for using eBidBoard website.
The Department of Airports and the Harbor Department handle their own Capital Construction projects and they do not currently have the information on projects that are out for bid available online.
The Engineering Services Department also provides a wide range of services to clients within the County of Ventura organization and the public. These other services come from the Land Development Services Department and the County Surveyor and the services include: land development and grading permitting, flood damage mitigation, land surveying and surveyor support.
The County of Ventura has developed Standards and Manuals to be applied by those developing products and performing work for the County. In addition to its own County developed standards, a variety of State, agency, district, and other standards and manuals may be referenced in County documents.
Contractors with contracts with the PWA will need some of the forms in the Forms/Publications/Links page.
